on the off chance (or rather, incredibly likely chance) that Eli snaps during one of his storming-patho-gen threads and injures or kills a staff member, what will... happen? An excellent and relevant question! Yes, while storming Patho-Gen it is very possible to commit some murders to the staff. Mowing down a crowd would be unlikely to succeed, as someone would be there to knock the offending character unconscious, but characters could absolutely kill or maim individuals. Even multiple individuals, if they caught them by surprise, and just kept exploring. Whether Eli is ever caught at the time, or manages to escape is up to you! As Patho-Gen has their hands full, 'catching' would, for the short term, entail being put to sleep and deposited in jail for holding until they could work out exactly what happened, and decide on a punishment. (If he escapes, it's likely that there is some kind of video footage/other evidence that places him there, and he would be served with any potential punishment later.)

Any murders should definitely be reported reputation wise, as Patho-Gen would have to decide case-by-case just how serious this was. It would likely be considered something of a crime of passion (as it's connected to this situation, and assumed to be prompted by it), which would permit some leniency. How lenient would also be determined by the brutality of the murder, the number of them, and so on.

Characters would at least face longer bouts of community service. Additionally, they would be made to wear anklet bracelets (or an equivalent over some other part of the body, should a character lack ankles). It would inhibit all native powers, and most Natural Soul abilities as well. Apart from their customer service tasks, they would be given two options:

1. They are otherwise allowed to go where they want, but the anklet will beep any time their adrenaline spikes. If it continues for more than a minute, the character will receive a shock and will fall unconscious. Patho-Gen assumes that heights of adrenaline are linked to some impending murders.

2. The character is held under house arrest. Apart from the times where they are going to and from their community service task, they are required to remain at home. The anklet will also force them unconscious if they leave their residence outside those times. Their adrenaline can go as high as it wants, as long as they're home.
