With all the coming and going, it would be difficult to find a meaningful scent trail- but for the most recent departees, it might be possible to pick up on something: and it would be leading downstairs. The same direction as where the kidnappees were taken, and disappearing in the same impassable spot. If there's no chance of a scent trail being found, it is also possible to press some of the staff at this time, who would admit that those with failed Augmenters are taken below. There's a lot of restricted stuff down there, and none of the people working above know exactly where they end up. But it all points downward. If there are any belongings that have been successfully collected (as Patho-Gen is fairly slow about doing this- and it's less likely to happen to characters living in established households with others), they might be found in multiple storage closets upstairs. There's no trace of the characters themselves up there, it really is just storage. Things like weapons seem to have been wholly confiscated, but miscellaneous personal goods are just laying here on a shelf.
