Bouncing back to this question (or question 3 from that question), assuming Rowan was able to find more or less the same info (just slower and less efficiently lol), if they tried to confirm that with the locals what would they get? They'd start by asking in the places they already have friends (starting at the smooth grind, then moving on to folk at the Valentina, but then asking around in general if they need to), just casually bringing up Calling to see what people say about it, what it gets used for, if anyone is particularly powerful with it how that looks, and what people know about it's use in technology.	The locals wouldn't have much of a problem discussing Calling with Rowan, particularly if they already have a good rapport with them. They would confirm the information already given, that they don't view Calling as anything 'special'. It's just like having any other talent, like being good at maths, or poetry. Everyone's capable of doing it a little, but unlike more useful skills, exceptional Calling won't get you a career. Back when horseriding was more of a hobby, Calling was a typical requirement for a trainer. Nowadays, you can't really get employment from being a good Caller, but your pets will be exceptionally polite. It's common knowledge that Calling is used within electronics, but engineers, scientists- the people behind creating it apparently don't need to be personally flushed with magic. Patho-Gen has never made it a hiring requirement. The average person doesn't understand why their machines work, only that cutting little designs onto metal will make them more effective. (There might be a touch of awkwardness from any Karterian who's heard that the Augmented can also be manipulated with Calling magic. Does that mean they're animals...? Are animals judging them for using Calling magic?? It's raising some uncomfortable questions, though the increased association with beasts (not that it wasn't always there, given corruptions and Shifts) hasn't yet turned into a full other-ing by the Karterian population. No one would be reckless enough to try using it on Rowan during the conversation, at least.)
