Question about Golem's immunity to poisons, are they susceptible to, say, a Terra using their psychoactive powers to influence them (a thing that Golems are susceptible to) into believing they're experiencing an effect even if technically their brain is immune? basically talk them into getting drugged, for fun!

or there's the mention of a healthy psychoactive terra being able to magically influence those around them, could that affect Golems? what about a spectral's ability to influence minds?
Edited 2025-12-02 06:59 pm (local)

That would be a way to drug a Golem! Sort of. Physically, they would remain unaffected, but they're still capable of thought, and very susceptible to suggestion. The more the Golem trusts or knows the Terra (and the more pushy or commanding the Terra), the better the effect. (As they are being influenced into it, how realistic/effective the experience would also depend on how familiar the Golem is with how it's 'supposed' to feel. If they don't understand what it's like, and the Terra doesn't guide their reactions along, it probably won't work as well.) Same goes for any other Natural Souls that have powers of influence: this ability to persuade is what's most effective for Golem-types, rather than any actual physical effects.

(This could also work to a degree with actual poisons as well. Even though their bodies would be strictly unaffected, unable to be sickened, a particularly convincing Terra could fool them into 'feeling' unwell, weaker than they actually are.

An extension of telling a Golem what to do, is telling them what they're feeling. Please be kind to your Golems....)

Likewise, substances like alcohol may not work so well anymore for poor Golem-types who wish to get inebriated, but the power of placebo can do a lot! Merely believing that the substance they're drinking should get them drunk is enough to induce the effects, so the same can be true for drug, if the Golem-type has Expectations of the substance they're partaking in. All-in-all, no magic is even necessary for a Golem-type looking for a good time: only the ability to believe that they're being drugged. Of course, if someone attempts to slip drugs to an unsuspecting Golem-type, well... that does absolutely nothing. Thus: it's purely psychological. (And at each player's discretion to toy with. Golem-types are able to be snapped out of their inebriation readily if they jarringly realize "wait a minute, this can't be happening!" or if they have too many moments to themselves to ponder the physical feeling of their bodies... Whatever works for players to have a good time/be able to recover from feeling drunk/drugged.)
