<small>I love it I knew this would bite him in the ass</small> so for the idiot Perissodactyla that made a pact before he knew pact magic was a thing, and also as a first-round Augmented repeatedly subjected to the Calling experiments in October: What's stronger? The binding of the pact, or the pull of the Call?

The pact magic is powerful, and provides an element of protection from Calling within the Kelesian sphere. To someone particularly inundated with Patho-Gen influence like Hubert, it might not be enough: he could well feel strong <i>pulls</i> to help Patho-Gen, or to at least hesitate on the battlefield. But it would be significantly more muffled, compared to someone who did not ally with Kelesis. A nagging urge that he might be able to resist, or recognize as irrational.<br><br>Anyone who elects to form a pact with the caretakers of Kelesis would also experience a similar level of protection. Hubert conveniently pre-registered for the privilege....
